Though not every couple chooses to walk down the aisle these days one thing is for sure, the ones that do, ranging from traditional to unique and unpredictable, are full of excitement and joy. Gone are the days when you could predict how the day was going to pan out as a guest. The new wave of wedding etiquette has arrived, and these highly-produced events are rewriting bridal culture and couture from the moment you receive the ‘Save the Date’.
Style
I’m no famous designer, but when I style a vision that can reach the masses through an image, social media or a magazine, my work feels validated and seen. If I can evoke a reaction to my interpretation of beauty and art through fashion, it makes me extremely happy.
Reality check…it’s winter! Well, we can’t have our cake and eat it too. Colder days are here and they are going past so quickly I can’t keep up with the changes I need to make in my wardrobe.
Suits have long been associated with looking powerful and professional. They create an assumption that we are polished, credible, trustworthy and carry an air of success or standard. I think they look sharp! I love a good piece of tailoring and, though I wear more blazers than two-piece suits, they are a fabulous canvas for self-expression.
Shoppers are too often complaining that nothing stands out, they can’t find what they want, sizes are all over the place and nothing looks unique. Are designers losing their spark and just making what sells and competing with one another?
Every time I travel, I always declare that I will pack light and be super organised. The unspoken plan is to create a fun practical collection of a few key pieces so I can keep half the suitcase free to bring a few treasures back. I’m never successful; it’s always a mega-failure!
As inquisitive humans, we are always looking for guidance in some form or fashion, and when it comes to fashion, our cosmic characteristics can hold interesting and powerful information that may help us wear, buy, or accessorise objects to help us create influence, confidence and inspire us to move forward with a renewed vision.
Pantone (a global authority on colour) has announced its colour for 2026: ‘Cloud Dancer’ which is a lofty shade of white creating a whir and a lot of chitter chatter, but when you look up to the skies and focus on what that actually entails, you quickly learn that this is not just any white shade; it’s an ombre of hues that range from pearly silver to a crisp sharp bright white.
I could start rolling off all the trends for 25/26, but we might end up with a ten-page editorial. The key to survive dressing this month is one word: versatility. Good ol’ linen takes the forefront from dresses, culottes, and tops in clean simple silhouettes elevated with statement accessories.
