The Briars Garden Party

Discover a garden party of yesteryear. Across the charming gardens of the historic homestead, enjoy an afternoon of live music, tours, lawn games and vintage tennis at its best.

Surrounded by majestic oaks, heritage roses and views of the valley, The Briars homestead gardens are the perfect spot to bring your rug, your chairs and settle in for an afternoon of fun, relaxation and charming entertainment.

The homestead is one of the Mornington Peninsula’s much loved historical treasures. Step back in time and discover what garden parties would have been like for the Balcombe family, the original family to live in the Homestead.

We’re bringing to life the original grass tennis lawn that was part of the Homestead gardens. Enjoy a fun and friendly game of tennis, paired with vintage racquets to try.

Enjoy live music from local jazz bands and acoustic artists, while you picnic on the lawns.

If you’re not the byo picnic type, or just want a little picnic top up, we’ll have you covered with sweet and savoury treats available, joined by Milkbar Cafe,  Peninsula Scones and Mock Red Hill

Farey Emma will be providing facepainting for the kids and we’ll have some flower arts and crafts too!

Bring your own tea cup and plant a garden seed to take home.

There will be games on the lawn for the little kids and big kids alike, as well as guided tours of the heritage outbuildings.
