“Art with Nature”, and Well-being

McClelland Sculpture Park is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10:00am to 4:00pm, and the Café is open for Takeaway, Saturday and Sunday, 10:00am to 3:00pm.  During this period Park entry is free for locals, but the toilets won’t be accessible, nor are picnics possible, and the gates close daily at 4:00pm sharp. 

Please act responsibly, respect our parkland and be inspired by the sculpture collection in this beautiful bushland setting.

Individual one-on-one sessions offer a relaxing and welcoming experience at the intersection of art, nature and health/wellbeing and offer an opportunity to rediscover the sculptures through new perspectives. Presented by Creative Arts Therapy Masters students on Wednesdays until mid-October.

Sound Walks

Walking while listening’ is a self-led participatory artwork by artist David Chesworth which is a work included in McClelland’s diverse collection. Experienced this work anywhere and anytime!

“Among all this isolation and screen-based communication, I thought it would be nice to introduce the concept of self-guided soundwalks. These can take place when we venture outdoors for personal exercise.

A soundwalk is a sensory, multi-dimensional experience that contrasts markedly with the bounded flatness of the computer screen, which is currently where most of us find ourselves spending our time. When we actively listen, our walks can become revelatory experiences. We hear sounds that transcend the boundaries of our visual matrix, allowing us to experience a different world. And anyone can do it!” – David Chesworth.
